Are you excited about renewable energy and curious to see how international events come to life? Do you want to gain real-world experience organizing impactful gatherings that connect solar industry leaders from around the world? As our Event Management Intern, you will work closely with a supportive team, helping to plan and execute global conferences that contribute to a cleaner energy future. We’re looking for a motivated, detail-oriented, and eager-to-learn team player who’s ready to grow and make meaningful contributions from day one—no prior event experience needed, just the right mindset!

About Us

At Solarplaza, we organize high-quality international B2B summits where industry leaders come together to exchange knowledge and build partnerships in renewable energy. We are a small team of 40+ people from 15+ countries, working from our headquarters in Rotterdam. We are driven by a shared mission to help accelerate the transition to renewable energy, and we achieve this by facilitating meaningful connections and sharing insights at our events.

What We’re Looking For

As an Event Management Intern, you will play a key role in supporting our team behind the scenes and in the spotlight. This role is a great opportunity to explore what it takes to bring an international conference to life—from concept to execution.

Key Traits:

  • Eager to Learn: Curious and motivated to understand event processes

  • Organized: Able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines efficiently

  • Reliable: Consistent and trustworthy in delivering high-quality work
Detail-Oriented: Meticulous in planning and execution

  • Effective Communicator: Clear, professional in writing and speaking

  • Internationally Minded: Comfortable working in diverse, multicultural teams

Your role and mission

  • Support project managers in organizing both virtual and in-person solar conferences.

  • Assist in designing conference programs by researching key topics and engaging leading industry experts.

  • Source and coordinate speakers, ensuring timely communication and alignment.

  • Collaborate closely with our Marketing team to gather and deliver content on deadline.

  • Monitor event budgets and track sales/costs.

  • Conduct stakeholder mapping for enhanced engagement and collaboration.

  • Manage badge systems and support smooth on-site execution.

  • Support the team with overall process improvement and template updates.

Bonus Project:

You’ll also get the opportunity to lead a small sustainability-focused project, such as helping us improve and organize our internal contact database. It’s a chance to take ownership, build skills, and make a lasting, tangible contribution beyond your internship.
