Solarplaza is looking for a Django Developer (32-40 hours a week)

At Solarplaza, we organize high-quality international B2B summits where industry leaders come together to exchange knowledge and build partnerships in renewable energy. We are a small team of 40+ people from 15+ countries, working from our headquarters in Rotterdam. We are driven by a shared mission to help accelerate the transition to renewable energy, and we achieve this by facilitating meaningful connections and sharing insights at our events.

Your Mission

As a Python/Django Developer, you will focus on back-end development for solarplaza.com, our platform dedicated to the renewable energy sector. Our ambitious strategy is to build solarplaza.com into the leading international B2B platform for professionals in solar energy and energy storage. You will be enhancing existing features and developing new modules to ensure the platform supports our events and helps connect professionals in renewable energy. You’ll play a direct role in shaping the platform’s evolution, contributing to the success of the business and our mission of creating a central hub where resources, content, company profiles, and networking opportunities can be found, promoted, and matched.

You will collaborate closely with the Platform Product Owner to define and prioritize platform features, with the web development team to improve and maintain the platform, and with the CEO to align on the strategic direction and goals for the platform.

We’re looking for someone who is precise, structured, and comfortable working with deadlines. You will be responsible for optimizing the platform, building new features, and ensuring it grows to support both internal needs and external professional collaboration.

KPIs You Will Be Measured By:

  • Module Development: Successfully developing new platform modules (e.g., forum, job board, review & comment section, press release module, AI integration) that increase user engagement and support platform growth.

  • Customer Data & Reporting: Building a customer data generation and reporting module for internal use.

  • Platform Optimization & Maintenance: Continuously improving and maintaining the platform to ensure smooth performance.

Job requirements

What You Bring

  • 2-3 years of experience as a Python/Django Developer with proven back-end development expertise.

  • Strong technical skills in Django, PostgreSQL, and Github Actions.

  • Additional Knowledge (a plus): Elasticsearch, Vue.js, ES6, DockerJira

  • Mindset: Self-starter, practical, and focused on delivering results.

What We Offer

  • An initial contract for 32 to 40 hours per week, with the possibility of contract extension based on performance.

  • 20 days per year to work remotely after 6 months of employment
