Solarplaza is looking for a Business Development Intern (32 to 40 hours per week)

As our Business Development Intern, you will play a key role in supporting our mission to accelerate the global energy transition by building strong relationships and driving commercial success for our international events. About Us

At Solarplaza, we organize high-quality international B2B summits where industry leaders come together to exchange knowledge and build partnerships in renewable energy. We are a small team of 40+ people from 15+ countries, working from our headquarters in Rotterdam. We are driven by a shared mission to help accelerate the transition to renewable energy, and we achieve this by facilitating meaningful connections and sharing insights at our events.

What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking a hands-on, organized, and motivated intern eager to grow in business development. You’re comfortable handling data and tools, confident in partner communications, and ready to take ownership of projects. With a sharp eye for detail and a proactive mindset, you juggle tasks like lead research, CRM updates, and event support. Most importantly, you’re eager to learn, ask questions, and understand how commercial relationships thrive in a fast-paced international setting.

Your role and mission

  • Assist in building and maintaining relationships with key industry stakeholders.

  • Support the creation of tailored partnership and sponsorship proposals.

  • Conduct market and partner research and help manage the CRM database.

  • Follow up on leads and referrals from marketing campaigns.

  • Prepare and send email communications, and assist with calls and virtual meetings.

  • Help with the launch and promotion of the Solarplaza Network Platform.

  • Monitor industry news and trends to provide relevant insights to the team.

Job requirements

What You Bring

  • You are currently enrolled in an HBO or university program and will remain a student for the full duration of the internship.

  • You are available for at least 5 months, working a minimum of 4 days (32 hours) per week.

  • You live in or near Rotterdam and can come to the office at least 4 days per week, as we operate in a hybrid working model.

  • You have a good command of English (spoken and written); additional languages are a plus.

  • You have a valid visa or authorization to work in the Netherlands (if applicable).
